New York Composers Night

On March 25, 2016, Friday, ensemble mise-en will be hosting Acoustic #9 at our home studio location, MISE-EN_PLACE, situated in the heart of Bushwick. The concert will feature compositions by NYC based composers.

This season’s ACOUSTIC+ series focuses on collaborative performances of new works for live performers with/without multimedia components. The series’ concept is thus: for each concert, a New York City composer (selected from the academic and musical community of which ensemble mise-en is itself a part) curates a program of new music for ensemble mise-en and him or herself.

Tawnie Olson: Paraclete (2013)

Whitney George: When it Breaks (2014)

Frances White: Tracing (2012)
Kala Pierson: Borroso (2011, NY premiere)
Chatori Shimizu – boooooooooon (2015, world premiere)

The 2015-16 CONNECTIONS series is supported by New York Women Composers, Inc., New York University Music Department, The Alice M. Ditson Fund, The Aaron Copland Fund for Music and The Amphion Foundation.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the city council.

This program is supported by New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

Tickets will be available at the door and can be purchased for $20 general admission or $15 for students and seniors. Your ticket will also include a complimentary drink.

MISE-EN_PLACE is located in the heart of Bushwick at 678 Hart St #1B, Brooklyn, NY 11221. Directions: M train to the Central Stop or the L train to the Dekalb stop.
