ensemble mise-en is a New York City-based new music collective dedicated to the promotion of exciting music of our time and especially finds itself at home in collaborate with young, emerging artists. Since its 2011 founding ensemble mise-en has grown from a loose collective performing a four-concert season to an national-and-internationally-touring group with an exclusive, unique repertory and a dedicated roster comprised of some of the finest young freelancers in New York.
In bringing its work to the public, ensemble mise-en seeks to go beyond simply performing in concert repertory by the established musical elite. The ensemble’s roster and artistic staff especially seek out opportunities to work with composers in the early stages of their musical development, in an attempt to provide them the invaluable experience of seeing their music workshopped and performed at a high level by an ensemble currently in the heart of the scene in which they seek to make their name.
